Birdwatching tips : Very common species, the European Starling is now almost everywhere (Europe, Asia, Africa, America). Its progress only seems to be slowed down by the altitude, the drought and the absence of open areas or cavities. In France, you can watch them in cities and countryside.
This species presents a very characteristic gregarious behaviour. Thus, as soon as the young are flying, the Starlings gather in huge flocks that can number tens of thousands of individuals. In the evening, you can admire the spectacular evolutions of these immense flights.
Size of the bird: 19 – 22 cm / Wingspan: 37 – 42cm
