There are more than 20,000 species of bees in the world.
Most of them have not yet been discovered...

To produce 1 kilo of honey, bees must gather nectar from several million flowers.

Their colonies are made up of a queen, thousands of worker bees and a few males called drones.

Bees communicate with each other through “dances” to indicate direction and distance from food sources or to warn of danger.

Pesticides harm bees. They lose their memory, learning and orientation abilities.

Honey is their main food source and only queens eat royal jelly.

The sole duty of drones is to mate with the queen.

A worker bee can live from 1 to 6 months. But a 3 to 5 year old queen.

The domestic bee (Apis Mellifera) is the most valuable for beekeepers in Europe because it resists winter and diseases well.
